We feel strongly about safety. The student will learn the weapon safety rules and abide by the rules at all times. We can not afford an unsafe student in any class. Safety violations are dealt with swiftly. The student should be able to load, unload, and reload their firearm in a SAFE and CONTROLLED manner. Unless attending a basic weapons training program, the student should be familiar with their weapon systems, optics and equipment. The student should possess the basic knowledge to be able to disassemble their firearm for cleaning, maintenance, and problem solving.
The student must possess the physical strength and stamina to repetitively manipulate and fire their weapon during prolonged drilling, in all weather conditions for each course. The student must be able to get up and down from a standing, kneeling, and prone position, as well as move forward, backward, and laterally. Placing you in a physical fitness regimen to improve your overall performance successfully, can not be accomplished in a one week class - that is what gets people hurt. It is not my job to make you quit. My job is to teach you tactics - plain and simple.
The student, regardless of duty position, needs to arrive with the proper gear and equipment in relation to the weapon systems that will be taught and used. For example, if a road officer arrives for tactical team training without any type of tac vest or equipment, this is considered unacceptable and undermines the training being conducted. Dress for the weather conditions and bring water to training.
The instructors take the time to guide, mentor and explain the material effectively. They also take the time to analyze and inform the shortcomings of students then make corrections to improve the overall performance of the student. Each student is evaluated and performance increased. The instructors currently serve their agencies; therefore, we continuously update and improve the programs based on their personal experiences. We strive to improve the curriculum continuously based on these experiences.
